I’m Blogging for the London Screenwriters Festival Website!

I won’t go into all the details, but let’s just say 2024 was… weird. I moved twice and turned 40 and neither was particularly conducive to writing. So now that I am comfortably ensconced my new house without another move in sight, 2025 is my year to recommit to the craft of screenwriting and finish several projects that have been hanging fire. I’m one of those people who gets motivated by learning new things. Even if the information in a class isn’t wholly “new”, I always walk away with some little nugget I’m excited to try out. So of course I was thrilled to find out that the London Screenwriters Festival is running a series of replays leading up to the 2025 event happening April 25-27, in person and online.

When they asked if anyone was interested in writing a blog post about the replays, I immediately jumped on the chance. Back when I wrote novels and short stories under the pen name “Phoebe Darqueling”, I used to attend conventions and report back for my website. Doing the same for screenwriting seems like a “duh” move so I jumped at the opportunity. They must like my style because it didn’t take long before I became an “official blogger” for the site. Woot!

My first three posts are already live, and the LSF Replay sessions are still going strong. The next one is called The Screenwriter’s Cookbook, and I’m excited to discover some tasty writing treats. Check out my posts below, and don’t forget visit LSF’s website to register for upcoming replay events. New sessions air every Thursday, plus you can also (re)watch at your leisure for a short time if you can’t make the live portion of each event.

Unfortunately, I won’t be able to attend the London Screenwriters Festival in person or even live online. But I definitely will be checking out all the replays and amazing resources you can access *FOR AN ENTIRE YEAR* just by buying a ticket. I’ve already got ideas about some posts I’d write for this blog rather than LSF because it relates more strongly to my own work, so subscribe here and to the LSF blog to get all the goods.

And as my pen persona always said, you always have a choice. Choose to be splendid.
