My Spec of The Last of Us is an Austin Second Rounder!

I haven’t been posting my successes here the way I did when I first started the blog, but this one felt like it deserved a post because it follows up on a previous article. Back when I first wrote “Episode 4.5” of The Last of Us, I did it for a fellowship application. I didn’t get the fellowship, so then I wondered what to do with it next. There aren’t a lot of opportunities out there for submitting specs of existing shows, but the Austin Film Festival is a noteable exception. And hey, it paid off! My script was in the top 20% of submissions in its category, so I must have gotten at least some of it right. I don’t think I’ll be able to make it to the festival this year, sadly, but I will be heading to Tucson at the end of the month for HorrOrigins so that’s something!

If you are interested in finding out more about how I chose which show to spec and how I wrote my episode, check out the original post.
